SHADOW BROKER QUESTION!!! PLEAASE!
I’ve only included characters in the poll which have a full romance “arc”, not one-time flings or “easter egg” hook ups. Also, the poll limit was 10 options, and I came up with 11 characters having romantic arcs My favorite character to romance is Liara. She was the one who helped Cerberus recover your body she does that regardless of if you romance her or not, so it makes her character closer to yours regardless. She has guilt over giving you over to Cerberus, which you can help assure her it ultimately worked out. She’s also one of the few characters who before ME3 actually asks you how you’re doing and tries to help you through emotional hardship, rather than just the other way around. In ME3 Liara is one of the main “actresses”, and it greatly enhances the romance arc with her. She’s with you throughout the game, being a listening ear for Shepard to work through anxiety over his task. The time capsule scene with Liara is one of the best in the whole game. You also bond with her in return, helping her through the guilt of seeing her homeworld Thessia overrun despite her efforts.
Liara’s Photo (minor spoilers)
Something DID jog the memory of our favorite prince that night What would have happened if David and Mary Margaret had awoken long before anyone else and been left to deal with the monumental task of breaking the curse? Once Upon a Time – Rated: The Crown of Thorns by Karmic Acumen reviews There’s something to say about trying to hold onto basic decency in a den full of snakes.
It kills you or drives you insane.
If you have the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC, and were in a relationship with Liara in Mass Effect and you haven’t cheated on her, you’re able to continue your romance with .
Setting[ edit ] The Mass Effect games take place in the 22nd century. In , mankind discovers an alien artifact on Mars that shows that humanity had been the study of an intergalactic species since the Cro-Magnon period. Research of the artifact, in addition to providing new technologies for humanity, led to the discovery that Pluto ‘s moon Charon was really a “mass relay”, an alien construct that is capable of transporting any ships faster than light to a nearby mass relay on the galactic scale.
The mass relays work by creating a “mass effect”, the production of dark energy from a reaction with Element Zero to slingshot spacecraft to the next relay; Element Zero is found to also react with biological entities to give them “biotics”, limited powers that evoke the mass effect on a much smaller scale. Though casualties were small on both sides, the war was interrupted by the Citadel Council, members of three alien races that oversaw maintaining peace in the galaxy.
Humanity was then welcomed into the collective group of aliens, and learn that the artifacts, mass relays, and the giant station that serves as the seat of power in the galaxy, the Citadel, are all remnants of the Protheans, believed to be a progenitor race to all alien species in the Milky Way but have since disappeared. As the newest race to join the Citadel, humanity tends to be looked down upon by other races, but the Citadel Council soon invites a human to become part of the Council and another to join the Spectres, elite enforcers that use both espionage and forced to complete their assignments.
On Earth, there is concern about how humanity is treated by these other species, and pro-human groups, seeking to pull humanity out of the Council at any cost, begin to appear.
Comments Shares Mass Effect is beloved, it’s lauded, it’s three video games people have strong opinions about. I’m not sure I’ve ever totally agreed with anyone on which is the best and why, so to find out just how wrong I am, I asked 1, people to tell me which Mass Effect is the best Mass Effect. I also asked which is the worst, and all kinds of other things—who you romanced, paragon or renegade, and so on.
These are the results.
Mass Effect 1 With a completely new and might I say better look, Ashley Williams is now the Commander of the Normandy ship and a Spectre, ever since Shepard was trialed for his collaboration with Cerberus. Ashley Williams will only make an appearance if she survived in the first Mass Effect game, in which case Kaiden Alenko will not make be available. Ashley is a Soldier class character, adept with all weapons and heavy armor.
This makes her a very useful aggressor in the battlefield. Being a Human Systems Alliance soldier, Vega has all the hardened abilities that the human Alliance is known for, yet his simplicity and dedication prevents him from seeing the rather selfish ambitions of galactic politics. Conviction also gives an origin story for Vega, who was ordered to guard a prisoner on the Normandy, which was interestingly Commander Shepard.
Mass Effect 1 Kaiden Alenko is a powerful Biotic and soldier, who made his first appearance in Mass Effect 1 as the first squad-mate of the series. Provided he survived the Virmire battle in the first game in which case Ashley will not be present , Kaiden will be the Commander of the Normandy and a Spectre. Mass Effect 1 Dr.
Being the daughter of a powerful Matriarch named Benezia, Liara shares little similarities with her mother and instead opts to study the mysteries of the Prothean technology and their extinction. In Mass Effect 2, she is the one who collaborates with Cerberus in order to revive Shepard. Liara is a confirmed squad-mate in Mass Effect 3, and makes an appearance alongside Garrus in the demo. She can be recruited in the first game, and also makes an appearance in ME2.
If you have Legion with you, it’ll remark in a surprisingly contemplative manner that the first thing a god must master is itself. All Grunt can do in reaction is just shake his head at Shepard. Words failed him utterly.
Mass Effect is a beautifully realized space epic, complete with Star Trek-esque mini-quests and Star Wars-esque giant battles and good & evil analogues. It’s a great game (even if the third got.
I’ve played the original trilogy more times than the average bear, with at least hours in each of the three games. Mass Effect 2 Ah, but now, dear reader, things get interesting. I understand the appeal of Thane—so gentle, but so unstoppable; so kind, but so deadly; so spiritual, but so steeped in sin. You know, the Garrus Vakarian. I love you, Garrus. But what about BroShep? So the next-best option is clearly Tali! Tali is the best romance choice for BroShep and I will hear no arguments, especially from you crazy people who romanced Miranda.
Bonus for Liara lovers: If you want to stay true blue, avoid the temptations of other aliens and keep the faith. The end of days: Mass Effect 3 And this brings us to the end—where you gotta face the music. Fortunately, BioWare lets the romance play out like the ideal version of your big high school break-up.

Liara has the most consistant romance option in the trilogy, first appearing in the original Mass Effect, having strong ties in Mass Effect 2 and further continued .
List of Mass Effect characters Mass Effect 2 is set within the Milky Way galaxy during the 22nd century where interstellar travel is possible through the use of mass transit devices called Mass Relays, a technology believed to have been built by an extinct alien race known as the Protheans. Other alien races seen in the game include the reptilian krogan and drell, the environmental suited quarians, and a hostile race of networked artificial intelligences called geth.
Meanwhile, a human supremacist organization called Cerberus believes that humans deserve a greater role in the galactic community and supports the principle that any methods of advancing humanity’s ascension are entirely justified, including illegal experimentation and terrorist activities. Shepard pushes Joker into the final escape pod before being blasted into space. The body is recovered by Cerberus, who begin the “Lazarus Project” with the sole purpose of bringing Shepard back to life.
Shepard is brought to meet the Illusive Man, who reveals that entire populations of human colonies have been disappearing all over the galaxy. Shepard also acquires a disabled geth that, if activated, joins the squad as Legion. During their absence, the Collectors board the Normandy SR
Garrus “Archangel” Vakarian
Despite the fact that all of them have at least a few skills that could contribute to victory, Inuyasha usually does almost all or all of the heavy lifting in combat, and he virtually always is the one to deliver the final killing blow. Sometimes Inuyasha’s companions will just stand in the background and make commentary about the fight, even though they have no valid reason not to participate.
The title character of Sailor Moon begins as this with Mercury by her side; the other senshi just have more strength and fighting ability, plus their attacks are offensive.
If you never played this portion of Mass Effect 2, don’t feel bad. The Crash Site was meant to tug at your heartstrings, and strike you with a load of nostalgia, but it wasn’t executed correctly.
I want to talk about the simple fact that I think games are approaching romance in the wrong way. I would easily put it in a list of my of my favorite games ever. The game also makes some very interesting strides with the depiction of love and romance. It allows the player to make a character either male or female, and starting in Mass Effect 2 have gay or lesbian romantic options depending on your choices made in conversation.
This creates the typical video game dialogue tree organizational structure- a format whose popularity first came to prominence within the adventure games of the s. The dialogue tree system is where the issues of video game romance start. Computers are exceedingly good at linear thinking- they can work off of patterns, equations, and instructions very well. It is much more difficult to teach a computer to think in an open-ended manner. In video games, or more specifically video game romance, this creates a problem in design.
When the player has access to multiple romantic options, the game has to work around those options. Because of basic logical rules around design systems, for each new option you multiply the number of endings in a tree-shape visualization of possible choices by an exponential amount.
